Frequently Asked Questions

Q. Who can join? Are classes suitable for beginners?

A. Everyone and absolutely! Decades is a friendly and inclusive space where people of all shapes and sizes are welcome and celebrated. Whether you are at the very beginning of your fitness journey, or have been coming to classes for years, you are guaranteed a great workout. We always start with low impact steps, then add harder options for those who want them.

Q. Do I need to book?

For Anniesland and Bearsden yes. Contact us to book a block or arrange a trial class. For Netherton no booking is required, just come along. David Lloyd and Glasgow Club classes are booked through their own booking systems.

Q. How much are classes?

A. Classes cost £5 or £6 depending on the cost of the room hire. There are also loyalty card/termly options, ask for details.

Q. I have a medical issue, can I join?

A. Every participant is asked to fill out an online health form before their first class. This asks a few important questions and advises whether or not you should check with your doctor or other health professional before starting classes. In most cases it is safe to begin slowly and build up. You should only move in a way that feels right for you, and stop if you feel any discomfort.

Q. Are your classes COVID-safe?

A. Participants are encouraged to use their common sense and not come to class if they have symptoms of COVID-19. If you have any questions about coming to class, please contact us.

Q. What should I wear?

A. For low impact classes, your everyday clothes or gym clothes will be fine, and either bare feet or comfortable shoes/trainers. For Dance Fitness classes you will need either gym clothes or loose comfortable clothes, and trainers. You may wish to invest in a good sports bra!
For Stretch, either gym clothes or loose comfortable clothes, and bare feet.

Q. What do I need to bring?

A: Your water bottle is a must! A towel is optional but a good idea! For online classes, a device for the video and a safe, clear space to move in. Online Stretch - a mat if you have one, but if not then carpet/rug or a towel will be fine.

Q. Are classes recorded, can I catch up later?

A. Not usually, but we have on-demand classes available to buy and do at home any time. Walking dance fitness (30 mins) is £3, Dance Fitness (50 mins) is £4. Delivered in the form of a website link with no expiry. Get in touch if you're interested.

Q. Can I buy a Decades T-shirt?

Decades T-shirts and vests are made by our friends at TeeShirtNation, Glasgow. Get in touch if you'd like one - prices start at £16.
